- Your request should align with your personal goal
e.g. If your goal is to write your own book, then your request to the group might sound like "Please share your experience on how you (would) compose(d) the contents of your books"
- A request should move you to your goal. That refers to the action steps you are going to make after you get the group feedback.
e.g. If you ask the group to share its best practices in finding a good publishing house, your next steps would be to contact the publisher yourself.
- A good request should be relevant to the group’s experience.
e.g.
In other words, you shouldn’t ask the group of financial managers to share their experience on how to do the gardening.
These are the reasons we ask you to share your request prior to the session with the moderator to see if it fits all the necessary criteria of a good request. A short 10 minutes online session can be held additionally to help you formulate your goal and define the proper request.
